Hermaphroditism in fish: incidence, distribution and associations with abiotic environmental factors

چکیده
Abstract The distribution of hermaphroditism in fishes has traditionally been mainly explained by its dependence on biotic factors. However, correlates with major abiotic factors have not investigated a quantitative basis and at global scale. Here, we determined the incidence fish family species level, tested hypothesis that evolutionary relationships account for poor presence freshwater species, association sexual systems latitude, habitat type depth. Functional is reported 8 orders, 34 families 370 fishes, all teleosts. Sequential predominates over simultaneous ratio ~ 5:1 protogyny (female-to-male sex change) 6:1 protandry (male-to-female). We found 12 hermaphroditic can live freshwater. seven these are from four primarily marine while there only five two mostly families. Protogynous bi-directional changers tighter reef-associated tropical subtropical habitats when compared to protandrous which tend be more plastic terms requirements. Finally, hermaphrodite both deep sea shallow waters similar proportions. This study further research specific groups different purposes, including ecological issues as well conservation management exploited species. Understanding environmental help forecast changes or phenology hermaphrodites change scenario.

Associations between environmental factors and incidence of cutaneous melanoma. Review
BACKGROUND Cutaneous melanoma is one of the most serious skin cancers. It is caused by neural crest-derived melanocytes - pigmented cells normally present in the epidermis and, sometimes, in the dermis. METHODS We performed a review of current knowledge on the risk factors of cutaneous melanoma. Relevant studies were identified using the PubMed, Science Direct, Medline, Scopus, Scholar Google...

according to cheng (1999), in recent esl/efl literature, asian (especially east asian) learners of english as a foreign/second language have been arguably reported as reticent and passive learners. the most common allegations are that these students are reluctant to participate in classroom discourse; they are unwilling to give responses; they do not ask questions; and they are passive and over...

BACKGROUND High incidences of malignant mesothelioma (MM) have been observed in New Caledonia. Previous work has shown an association between MM and soil containing serpentinite. OBJECTIVES We studied the spatial and temporal variation of MM and its association with environmental factors. METHODS We investigated the 109 MM cases recorded in the Cancer Registry of New Caledonia between 1984 ...

A data-mining approach to determine the spatio-temporal relationship between environmental factors and fish distribution
The interaction between environmental factors and the spatiotemporal dynamics of living organism is an important aspect in ecology. We describe here a data-mining approach—the spatiotemporal assignment mining model (STAMM)—to extract the spatiotemporal pattern, or assignment of environmental factors, which control the distribution of a living organism. In STAMM, the spatiotemporal assignment of...
